The Kensington is a 145-unit high-rise community located in the center of Uptown Charlotte, one of the city’s most vibrant and walkable urban districts. Acquired from Johnson & Wales University with design plans already in place for a transition from student housing to conventional multifamily, Grand Peaks executed and completed the full conversion after the acquisition in 2022, upgrading interiors, modernizing amenities, and repositioning the building for a broader renter base. With its premier infill location, diverse demand drivers, and strong Uptown fundamentals, The Kensington is well-positioned for long-term resilience and continued renter appeal in one of the Southeast’s fastest-growing metros.
